The compassionate team at Polsky, Shouldice & Rosen, PC is committed to fighting for victims of on the job injuries, and occupational diseases and illnesses, that are the result of their job or conditions of their workplace. On a day to day basis, we see the challenges of injured and unwell people and how their work related problems negatively impact their and their family’s lives. We help workplace victims to rise above their adverse situations by fighting to get compensation for their medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering- so that they can focus on healing and getting back to their regular routines.
We have been inspired many times over by the courage and strength of individual clients to rise above their adverse situations. We see people who are able to do this as people who have an inner strength that will help them to continue to rise above adversity in many different areas of their lives. Because of this, we have created the PSR: Rise Above Scholarship, 2018 to support the education of a student who has drawn upon their inner strength to rise above in the face of adverse situations.
Essay Prompt
Answer the following prompt and question in an essay of 1,000 words or less:
At Polsky, Shouldice & Rosen, PC, many of our clients must overcome injuries or illnesses because they were just trying to do their jobs.
- Describe a time in your life when you have faced adversity, and how you drew upon your inner strength to rise above this situation.
- How will your inner strength and your education goals complement each other to continue to be able to rise above adversity in the future?
- Although PSR works primarily with people who are unwell because of their work, we welcome individuals to apply for this scholarship who have experienced adversity in different ways.
Eligibility Criteria
- This scholarship is open to any student who is currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in the United States. This includes accredited community college students; and high school seniors (and students who possess a GED) who have been accepted to or enrolled in an accredited program.
- The scholarship applicant must be able to verify that the situation described in their essay is true and accurately portrayed.
- All eligible candidates must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above.
